KUMQUATS AND PINEAPPLE GUAVA FLOWERS

There is an indescribable satisfaction and pleasure and feeling of really living that comes with eating a freshly picked anything. In this case, the garden at the avocado farm contained a kumquat bush and a pineapple guava plant. The kumquats had sugary sweet skins that compressed and then yielded to teeth with a gentle burst of slightly tart kumquat juice. The pineapple guava flowers tasted like flowers. These were the first flowers I had ever eaten. They tasted like guava. Sweet and fruit. I imagine my reaction was similar to how the kids at Charlie's Chocolate Factory felt when they licked the boisenberry picture on the fruit wallpaper and it tasted like a boisenberry.
